Dear Habitat for Humanity supporter,
We are writing to you today to provide an update about the measures Watauga Habitat for Humanity is taking to protect our staff, volunteers and the people we serve during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
These measures are based on guidance from Habitat for Humanity International and local, state and national public health authorities. We are continually monitoring the situation, and our approach may change as new guidance is provided.
As a precautionary measure, we canceled the Fickling Home Dedication scheduled for Saturday, March 14th. We are continuing work at our build site and our Watauga Habitat ReStore remains open.
While we continue to move forward, we do ask that if you feel unwell or have traveled recently to one of the areas designated by the CDC as level 3 or on a cruise ship, you refrain from joining a Habitat event or build or visiting a Habitat ReStore or office. Similarly, if a member of your household has potentially been exposed to the virus through travel or other means, seek medical guidance and refrain from participating in any Habitat-related events, including volunteering or shopping in our ReStore.
We realize your health is your top priority. Should you decide not to volunteer as previously planned, please let us know so that we can adjust our plans accordingly.
Please know that we are constantly monitoring the situation and will update our plans as new details emerge. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate this public health crisis together.
In partnership,
Watauga County Habitat for Humanity
